Research Sample-Experimental Composition in 1960’s San Francisco

October 12, 2009 · Leave a Comment

There are a number of ways of going about doing and organizing web-based research.  For this sample, I essentially took a theme, experimental composition in 1960’s San Francisco, and spent two hours straight at the computer following links.  Instead of just bookmarking and categorizing like I have here, one could produce results in chronological format to show the process itself more coherently.  It also might help to make intermittent comments to indicate what mental process is going on while the research takes place.  It is always helpful to agglomerate as much information possible, but we need to figure out how to present it for the time being (i.e. pre-website) so that it is the most helpful for the class and its’ projects.  Note that this one is especially confusing due to the addition of Lauren Norby’s brief research on the origin of interdisciplinary collaboration and my own personal browsing habits.

It would be nice to embed especially significant videos directly into the blog.

{youtube=webaddress}, {googlevideo=webaddress} or {vimeo=webaddress}

This is done simply by putting the video’s address where I wrote webaddress (duh), and changing the curly brackets to these [ type of brackets.

Example:

Please don’t do this for every video, just ones that you found especially significant.
